Xander's Graduation

Today was a really big deal. Haha! Leave it to a silly emotional mom to feel that way about a preschool graduation. But seriously, how often does your firstborn child graduate from preschool?! I was on the verge of bawling all morning. Xander has LOVED the last 8 months of preschool with Ms. Kecia. It went by so quickly! Xander's cousin Dylan was graduating today also, so it was a very special day for the entire Martin family. Even Great Grandma Winnie came! I could tell Xander was really thrilled about all the excitement and attention, after he got over his initial nervousness and morningtime crabbiness (Mommy understands, buddy!).

We were so excited all week about graduation, and thankfully the weather cooperated! It could not have been a better day. Here are some pictures of the big day.

Dylan's class graduating - all the parental paparazzi in this photo cracks me up:

Xander getting dressed in his cap & gown:

Getting ready to walk down with his class:

Smiling with Ms. Kecia after officially graduating from preschool!!!!

And with the proud parents:

Now getting ready to sing some songs. Xander was extremely loud, which we got a huge kick out of:

 Big hugs for Ms. Kecia:

Uncle Lonnie and Dax visiting with Great Grandma Winnie:

Tractor rides from Mr. Storm!

And what's this? Surprises from Grammy and Pompom?

Xander shrieking with joy: "IT'S A PILLOW PET!!"
[For months Xander has been begging for the ladybug Pillow Pet. So when my parents asked me what he might like for a graduation gift, I knew what to say! I will never forget the sound of his voice as he yelled "a pillow pet!!" Utter delight and happiness. Priceless.]

Daxie got a cute soft doggie which he has been glued to ever since:

The excitement of the day was tiring for precious little Daxie.

Then, the whole lot of us went out to lunch, where Dylan and Xander received surprises from Great Grandma Winnie:

 Big thank-you hugs:

It was such a special day for Xander and Dylan! It meant so much to us to have all the family there to share in this milestone. Our boys are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

Xander's reaction for his pillow pet was the best ever. I could never imagine what yesterday was going to feel like. It was the first of many emotional days to come. That's for sure. I'm glad we got to share it together!
